There were four stages of the hiring process:
1) Application- Pretty standard, with cover letter, resume, and qualifying questions.
2) Instruction Video- After your application is approved, you'll have to prepare and instruct a four minute video related to what position you're applying for. They provide the questions, and you'll have about a week to prepare. It's not a "live" interview, but you'll only have one shot once you start recording, so practice ahead of time.
3) Phone Interview- If you pass the instruction video, you'll be scheduled for a phone interview. Again, it's a pretty standard interview. All I can suggest is to read up on the company, know in advanced why you want to work for Kaplan, and practice answering normal interview questions.
4) Technical Evaluation- If you go on to the technical eval, you'll receive four questions to prepare to teach in a live Skype interview. They'll critique your teaching methods, and ask you to repeat the problem with their feedback in mind. They'll also ask you more interview questions and "what-if" scenarios. The woman who evaluated me was very supportive throughout the interview. It took about 30 minutes.
