So, I'm writing this from the perspective of someone who interviewed a lot of candidates for the Strategic Management Consulting (SMC) Department at KPCO. Remember, HR often blocks good candidates so either network your resume into the organization or make sure the key words in the job posting are on your resume. People who know people at the organization were frequent hires. SMC is made up of 4 teams (1) project management (2) performance improvement - lean (3) data analytics (4) care delivery consultants. The teams have very different functions and personalities. On the project management team the interview consisted of an initial phone interview listening for people skills and basic project management skills. If you make it past that you are called into a group interview. This usually consists of the manager and two of the project managers from the team. The group interview is very unstructured. Just be yourself and ask about what projects they have in the pipleline that you might be getting. The projects vary vastly so make sure it's something you want to do. Keep in mind these positions are not for creative types. These are very much do what you are told positions. SMC has extremely high turnover. Management tries to say it's a good thing but it's not. Once your honeymoon period is over in SMC you'll likely want to get out as soon as possible. Most people leave between 1-2 years.
