In total, I interviewed with HR, my potential hiring manager (+1), my Divisional Global VP (+2), a senior manager from another team in the same function, and a senior manager from the office I was interviewing for
Overall a pretty comprehensive process, I'd say well planned. Checked all the boxes: fit with immediate manager, corporate/cultural fit, technical and domain knowledge fit, and finally cross-functional fit with organization
It went super well until the last interview. The cross-functional senior manager was clearly a stickler for details; he asked for examples, and ended up diving really deep into the facts, figures etc - which I repeatedly said was just reference figures. I gathered I failed him, because I passed the previous 4 and made good impressions, as shared by the HR coordinator.
Still, the above were all fine, all part of the process, no biggie, we are all adults.
The sting was how fast they threw you to the side once you were no longer essential. HR basically ghosted me, I've followed up at least 4 times in the last month and it always starts with a "Hi!" and when you ask about progress, then the blue tick on whatsapp ~mysteriously~ never appears.
