      Was brought in for an in-person interview. During this interview, I was told that if I was able to complete the take-home coding challenge, I would be offered a job. I completed the take-home challenge and was instructed to add additional, more advanced features in order to "stand out amongst the other applicants", which I did. After not hearing back for a couple of weeks, I reached out to check in and was offered the job over the phone which was incredibly exciting, and told that I would most likely begin working by the end of the wek. I then was brought in to meet the team that I would be working on for my "final interview" after which I didnt hear back for another week. I once again reached out to check in and was told that I lack the requisite experience to work for Journey Apps and that I needed to go get experience if I am serious about working for them... I was never given an honest reason for why I was unoffered the job. They knew my experience, and verbally offered me the position and feel that my "final interview" went just fine. I found this experience to be incredibly negative in the end and feel that Journey was dishonest and deceptive right from the beginning. I was led on for many weeks and in the end told "the business' decision is final and we are not obliged to provide an explanation". Thanks Journey! In the end I did recieve some feedback after requesting it, but was never given an honest explanation for why they really did what they did. Was basically told what I knew and they knew from the very beginning. Dont waste your time with their application process unless you just want some extra experience while searching for other jobs and dont believe them when they offer you a job until you have signed on the dotted line. The word "offer" doesnt mean the same thing with this company as it does anywhere else.

      Thank you for providing feedback on your experience, we appreciate it. I investigated what took place here, and as a result I wanted to address the points that you raised for the benefit of anyone reading this review. Although you are based in Colorado, you applied for a Solutions Engineer position in our South African office, since you stated that you were interested in relocating to South Africa. We interviewed you at our Denver offices for the position in South Africa. During the final stages of the interview process, you indicated that you had changed your mind with regard to relocating to South Africa, and asked if you can interview for a Solutions Engineer position in our Denver office. We had to re-evaluate you as a candidate since the experience level required for the Denver position was different from the South African position that you originally interviewed for. The outcome of this process was that you did not have enough experience for the Denver position. We made some recommendations on what you can do to address the shortcomings identified. Our VP also provided you with an in-depth post-interview feedback email which stated the detailed reasons why you did not meet our experience thresholds for the Denver position. I hope this clarifies what occurred in the hiring process. We take our hiring process very seriously and hold ourselves to a high standard — we never want to waste anyone's time or lead anyone on.

      Overall, they followed a very standard process of the informal call, technical call, technical tack-home project with an open door to a contact for questions/help, then an on-site interview.
