45 minute virtual interview with the hiring manager. Went through my resume and talked about old projects. Discussed challenges in my projects and what I learned from those experiences as well as why I would want to work for Joby.

Question 1
Tell me about your most difficult project? Why was it difficult? What did you learn?
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Joby Aviation (San Carlos, CA)
Entretien
Planned - Presentation based on Experience followed by 1:1s with panel members,
I presented on a past project showcasing manufacturing engineering skills - equipment design, procurement, working with vendors, DFMA reviews etc. I had my first 1:1 with Manufacturing Engineering lead. The lead and I had worked for same company previously. He set an awkward tone for the interview. Started discussing about how that company did things certain way. The conversation went sideways and became irrelevant to Joby or the role.
After 45 mins of first round, the recruited came to greet me and mentioned they have found a better candidate for the role and are stopping the interview then. Showed me out.
My assessment -
Either
They probably had extended an offer and were evaluating backup candidates.
Or
They are generating fake data to show they have interviewed candidates to gain benefits.
I cannot assess the interview difficulty as I was not asked a single technical question.
J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Joby Aviation (Marina, CA) en déc. 2024

They took a long time to respond during every step of the process. Seems like they are very unorganized. I spoke to someone that wasn't even a part of the team that I was interviewing to join.
