Interview process was frustrating and lacked professionalism.
I applied for a sales role and went through multiple stages of the hiring process. After interviewing, I was informed that the company was “going in a different direction” and/or considering internal candidates. It was ambigous. You can tell she (the recruiter) was lying. However, I continued seeing the same position repeatedly advertised afterward, which made the explanation feel disingenuous and left me questioning the transparency of the hiring process.
In a separate interaction, I was scheduled for an interview but was instead directed to an AI screening system. The system did not function properly, and the interview never took place. When I reached out for assistance, I received little to no support and was essentially told that I shouldn't be surprised about getting "ghosted." Jesus... do better
My overall impression was that candidates are treated as disposable rather than respected professionals. Communication was inconsistent, the hiring process felt impersonal, and there was very little accountability when problems occurred.
I understand companies have the right to hire whoever they believe is the best fit, but candidates invest significant time and effort into applications and interviews. Basic transparency, communication, and professionalism would go a long way toward improving the experience.
