One of the worst interviewing experiences I've ever had. Applied back in October for a Senior Software Engineer position and got an interview in January. Had two interviews, one with HR and then a second technical one with the team lead. HR was nice enough, but they couldn't properly explain to me what it was that the company did.
Second technical interview with the project lead was awful. It was a video interview and the individual was the least friendly, least enthusiastic person I've ever met. Had a thick accent which made it difficult to understand and communicate. Questions were easy enough, simple DS&A questions, asked about my previous work experience. When I asked questions about the company and my role, the interviewer just kind of mumbled some buzzwords about "Deep Learning" and "AI", although that's not what I'd be working on at all.
The interviewer frowned at me the entire interview, didn't seem interested at all and was a bit rude and condescending. Said "oh, that's all you did?" when I told him about my projects and past work experience. Kept telling me how they had "tons of other applicants" for this role and that he "didn't know how competitive I was." Odd, because they offered me the position anyways.
Got the offer less than a week later, but declined because there's no way I want to work 8hrs/day under someone like that.
