J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Iowa Workforce Development (Mason City, IA) en janv. 2020
Entretien
I was interviewed by two men. They both had their laptops out, would ask me a question, and then typed my response and gave me little to no eye contact the entire time. They also didn't have any interactive follow up questions to my responses. At the very end of the interview, they said they wanted to see a my presentation skills. Sitting out on the table was a box of tissues, a paperclip, and I can't recall the third office supply item. They asked me to give a 2 minute presentation on one of those three things. I chose the kleenex box. I think this was a low point in my interview. I'm actually pretty comfortable giving presentations when I know my topic and I've had some time to prepare, but I ran out of tissue-related things to talk about after about 45 seconds. I have some anxiety when I'm being interviewed so that probably played into this.

The onsite interviewer included two managers, one who I had prior contact with and a second interviewer who was a visiting manager. About 15 long detailed, essay type "tell me about a time.." and impersonal. The local manager acted bored. The time between when the position was announced to me and interview was approximately 5 months.

Interview process was formal, as it is with all state jobs. You must apply online through DAS (Department of Administrative Services), first, and then submit a paper resume and cover letter to the hiring manager. All of these instructions are on DAS and you must follow them to the T, otherwise they will disregard your application.
It takes a long time to hear back, so be prepared to wait 3 to 4 weeks to hear anything back. The interview process is not bad - it is usually a group interview with multiple interviewers from several departments. A lot of behavioral questions and a lot of note-taking; they have to take notes like crazy so don't get nervous if you notice this.
The interview lasted 30 to 45 minutes.
