Entretien
I applied via a referral. The first round with the recruiter was quick, just questions about experience, info about role and salary expectations, but she was prompt with scheduling and very pleasant. I then had a 1 hr interview with hiring manager where he asked me javascript Q & A and discussing background. I was not a good fit for this role so I wasn't surprised when I got a generic rejection email the following day. Overall everyone I spoke with was super pleasant and very ego-less. The interview process was very organized and expectations at each step were very clear, great interview doc was provided as well.

Question 1
-Javascript Q&A, when might something be used and how
The interview process followed the common template of multi-round interviewing. First a screening call with a recruiter, followed by an interview with the hiring manager, then a technical interview, and finally a multi-interview day with members of the team.
There were "leetcode" style questions but the interviewers seemed much more interested in working with you to solve them. My impression was they were more focused on understanding how you think/code rather than if you can get the perfect optimal solution (although that doesn't hurt).
Everyone was professional and friendly and the recruiting team was the most communicative and transparent I've encountered in the interview process.
