J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 4 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Internews Europe en janv. 2019

      Entretien

I applied online in October 2018. Got invited to an interview two weeks later. Then was told the interviews were cancelled due to restructuring. No worries, I understand that. I emailed a month later and asked if there was any update as I remained interested in their cause. Didn't hear anything. I then heard back from them in late December and said interviews were going ahead in January 2019. I confirmed that I was attending the interview by email. I showed up 10 minutes early and no one knew I was coming or who I was. They admitted they had a problem with receiving emails due to their server, but still treated me like I was a huge inconvenience. I was put in a room with a written technical test for an hour, again treated like I was annoying them for need to use one of their rooms and laptops. The test was fine, it was a standard review of a proposal components. I moved to an interview. I asked if they were concerned about losing EU funding after Brexit and what their contingency plans were (as I believed they were registered in the UK). They looked at me like I was stupid and asked why I would ask that question, even though this was/is a large concern for all NGOs with HQs in London. I then asked how many proposals they generate in a month to get an idea of the workload and level of demand. Instead of telling me, they asked me to guess. When I guessed (and was wrong, because I didn't have any information on the size of the team), they treated me like I was incompetent for not knowing. I then asked about the size of the team, the level of organization in the office, and relationship with US headquarters/how they work together, and they barely said anything. One guy said that he was only there on behalf of someone else as I had given them no notice... After the interview one of the walked me out, gave me one word answers, no interest to know me at all. Not even a sorry for the mix-up, or a thank you for my time coming across London or using annual leave to be interviewed. I am understanding that mistakes happen but I remained flexible while they were just rude. I would have loved if they just laughed and we improvised together. That's the point of an interview, to see how you can work together, not scrutinize/ignore someone to the point they doubt themselves. I never heard back from them, not even a rejection email. I guess they didn't receive my thank you / follow-up email due to their server issues. I could have called afterwards but really didn't want to work there. I've never experienced anything like this and would never consider having anything to do with them again.
