Strangest "interview" process I have ever experienced. I was contacted by them regarding a position with a major company and repeatedly urged to keep them informed of any other companies to which I was applying. I was asked to forward three references (managerial only, no co-workers) along with an updated resume and told that I was being submitted for the job before I even interviewed. When I arrived for the interview, there was a room with a phone and instructions to call an extension. No receptionist, no person in the front office. Although it appeared they worked like other placement agencies, I was asked no questions during my interview, and was not asked to fill out any standard employment/tax documents. Little additional information was given about the position during the interview. I was then told I was to complete an application on a computer in the lobby. I was glad, because to this point, I felt they had very little information about me other than my resume. I was disappointed, when the "application" consisted only of name, address, and phone fields. A week or so later, I received a call that I had not been selected for the position. This experience made me wonder if the intention from the beginning was only to mine applicants for hiring manager contact information.
