      STOP and take TWO minutes to read this BEFORE considering any job at Infoblox. This is a true CAUTIONARY tale that needs to be told. No one would want this NIGHTMARE to happen to ANYONE ELSE. First you should know that the Infoblox recruitment and hiring process is entirely structured to benefit Infoblox, NOT YOU. If you are a candidate for a position, they will first ask you to take a CCAT test before any F2F interviews. The CCAT is 50 questions you need to answer in 15 minutes. It is kind of like an IQ test and has very little to do with actual work experience. It is a hard test if you are not used to taking tests like that. The first time I took the CCAT test I flunked. The recruiter I was working with said I could take it again. That was in March 2018. I decided to pass on taking the test a second time because I think it’s kind of demeaning and pointless. Fast-forward to May 2018 and the recruiter reaches out once again as I was such a “great fit” for their content marketing manager position. I told her I would be interested in the opportunity but I was not willing to take the test again unless there was a strong possibility I was going to be hired. I suggested interviewing first and then if it looks like Infoblox wants to hire me, I would study for and pass the test. They agreed. First, I did a phone interviewed with their CMO and everything went well. Soon after I was invited for a morning of F2F interviews with their marketing team. Then I was told by both recruiter and the CMO that everything looks good and let’s move forward with the hiring process. So, I bought the CCAT study prep package. ($79) practiced and studied how to interpret bizarre spatial reasoning questions and passed their test. The Reference Check YOU SHOULD KNOW, Infoblox wants to check your references before making an offer. This is another way their recruitment benefits Infoblox, NOT YOU. I don’t give out reference information without a written job offer (any neither should you) and I let their recruiter know that. She then called me to discuss the situation, confirmed my salary and strongly expressed their intent to hire me but needed reference information first. Since the conversation was so positive with no issues or roadblocks mentioned, I considered our conversation to be a valid verbal offer of employment and gave them my references. After that, I booked some last-minute tickets to Costa Rica for vacation before I started my new job. I was so happy and excited! I let both the recruiter and their CMO know that I had my computer and phone while on vacation and would be available to them. I anticipated they would check my references and would send me the hard copy offer while on vacation. I checked-in several times and got many positive responses like “looking forward to connecting when you return.” Not one word of bad news or any change in plans. Completely Blindsided So, I get home and reach out to both their CMO and the recruiter to get things rolling. This is when I find out that the job I thought I had has suddenly moved to Tacoma, Washington. At no time was it ever mentioned by anyone at Infoblox or advertised that the job had a possibility of being in Tacoma. Withholding Vital Information To make matters EVEN WORSE, their CMO then tells me that she knew about this issue of the job now being located in Tacoma before I left on vacation. She said “she didn’t want to ruin my vacation” with the bad news. So to make herself feel better, their CMO decided to withhold this information from me and send me highly misleading messages until I got home. NICE, HUH? So, the CMO offers me the job in Tacoma. That is a big NO. Their CMO also offers me a contract role in Santa Clara. That is also a big NO. That is Infoblox’s only solution to the problem after putting me through all of that. Today, I got a call from the Infoblox attorney. He let me know that there is nothing the company is willing to do after this fiasco. There are many better companies out there than this one. Do yourself a favor a skip the drama of attempting to get hired here. It just not worth what they put you through.
