Recruiter screen, technical screen by 3rd party and full day interview.
The recruiter knew nothing about the job, but it wasn't his fault because they don't really have a job description. Indeed operates on some University level rotational job scheme, where you are not immediately hired into a specific role or even a specific discipline. I imagine most people find this attractive, but my background is specific to business intelligence and Big Data. Honestly the thing that sold me on even interviewing with them was the location and proximity to my home and how enthusiastic the recruiter was.
The interview was definitely well organized, I received information in a timely manner and the process was worry-free. Interestingly enough, after beating a total of 13 individuals in a very long day I didn't meet one person who was able to tell me anything interesting about the company overall I heard the same things over and over again about small teams, Innovation, etc etc but it didn't seem like anybody was really working towards any specific strategy or plan! Also, not one person attempted to sell me on the job, at times people were almost adversarial and their approach to the interview.
Each interview section was highly technical focus, obviously with this being technical position, but it really just seemed like a repeat of the same thing over and over again, they should probably just do an all-day class session like you're in a lecture or something or an exam. I didn't get the feeling that they really cared about what type of person I was, or anything about me beyond what was black and white.
Apparently I did something right because my recruiter told me that I passed the interview process and what was left to do next was create an offer and get things approved oh, that was pretty much where it ended. Apparently their company is going through something right now that's not allowing them to issue offers, I would say to anyone beware of any tech company that isn't able to issue an offer! It's like going on a date with somebody and then being told at the end of the date that they couldn't afford to pay and that you would have to pay for them!
