      Entretien

      Phone screening, interview with hiring manager, portfolio review, cross functional panel, cultural fit. Overall, the experience was...odd. Members of their team were late to certain portions of the process, communication with the recruiter was inconsistent. When asked for feedback, there was nothing tangible they could provide, with the exception of the recruiter literally mentioning they were looking for "a unicorn" which is a bit of a red flag.

      Truly one of the worst interview processes I've experienced. First interview was cancelled last-minute and rescheduled for over a week later. I asked about the pay range for the position in a follow-up email after scheduling my second interview (as this is usually discussed early and I wanted to be sure we weren't using up our time unnecessarily). The talent rep responded to my pay range question by asking if I just wanted to cancel the interview? I said no, again, I wanted to be sure that we had shared expectations. He got me on the phone to backstep and dance around the question for a full fifteen minutes, stating that it all really depended and he didn't want to give me a number to under promise or over promise (why would the pay be so substantially different if you have multiple people with the same job title??). I agreed to move forward to the next interview and explicitly asked what the interview would involve and if I should come prepared with anything. The rep AND the person who scheduled my second interview both said no, it would be an informal, get-to-know-you conversation. As soon as I showed up the person interviewing me expected me to do two separate case study presentations. I told them that I had asked how to prepare and that both people told me that I would not be presenting during this interview. At the end she expressed that she enjoyed talking to me and would like to reschedule the interview to do a case study presentation. A week later, the HR rep emailed me to say I wasn't a good fit for the organization. If your company's whole mission is equity and transparency, you have a LONG way to go to have that be reflected in your culture. I asked direct questions in order to have shared expectations, and each time I either received a false response, or a response that seemed to want to shame me for even asking.
