2 time waster interviews with bros who were not actually managing the team I would be joining. The first interview was with someone billed as a technical recruiter (why a tech recruiter would screen a sales candidate - no idea) and the second was with another bro who is now managing a sales team (just a different one than I was interviewing for) but came from the customer success side. So, long story short - from the original screen I felt like I should just stop there. The vibe was not the best and the comp was lower than I expected. I dug into the reviews on Glassdoor and they seemed grim and gamed - aka - this is a company that is front loading with fake positive reviews to bury the negative ones. The info in the negative reviews definitely filtered thru in the interview process - bro cliques, middle management being incompetent and composed of "friends/ "in crowd". From his LinkedIn profile, the 2nd person I interviewed with seemingly had no experience as an individual contributor, but is now managing an Enterprise Sales team?! OK. HARD PASS. I probably should have declined the second interview and saved the 30 minutes, but on the other side of it, it did provide some interview practice and I am now sure that the negative reviews I read on GD are pretty accurate. I think anybody joining the new biz team is going to have a real struggle - these guys are way past growth mode - they are now in scramble to retain current customers mode.
