      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un établissement d'enseignement supérieur ou universitaire. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez ION Group (Washington, DC) en oct. 2017

      Entretien

The first round was a video interview that was pretty typical except that there were a couple tricky questions to see how the candidate thinks critically and reacts to a curveball question. The curveball question I got was: How would you describe color to someone who can't see color?

I was contacted by a current LDP Analyst to apply in January. After 3 months, I received a first-round interview with two directors which consisted of standard behavioural and fit questions. The cultural fit and role seemed great for me and I began to buy in. Heard back after 2 weeks that I got a superday invitation. This consisted of interviews with 3 directors which got progressively more difficult, often asking about tough scenarios and delving deep into past experience. There was also a case study which involved applying ION's product offerings to solve a client's business problems. The time limit of 1 hour was extremely rushed for a full slidedeck and recommendation. After this, I received an email from the recruitment team after 3 weeks with positive feedback and that my candidacy was just awaiting final approval from senior management, and to put other offers on hold if applicable. However, I would not hear substantial news for over another month, just the occasional update that my candidacy was still not processed. I finally received an email today that they could not move forward with my candidacy. Overall, the interview process was fairly rigorous but nothing out of the ordinary. However, the process after was extremely unprofessional and caused many delays. There needs to be more transparent communication between recruitment and senior management, as well as to the candidate with more reasonable timelines. I would stay clear if you want to avoid massive headaches and planning setbacks.

I submitted my resume, then did a recorded video interview with 3 different questions, then had two 30-minute video interviews back to back. I received an email for the two 30-minute interviews the day before they started interviewing asking for my availability. I replied to the email and got an email the next morning (which was the first of the three days they were conducting interviews) saying that I needed to send it to a different email. I did so that hour and received an email that scheduled an interview in 2 hours. The turnaround was insanely quick and they definitely did not give me a ton of heads up warning. The first interviewer was great - worked in R&D and leadership the development. The second interviewer was an executive assistant who had been promoted to recruiting. She kept cutting me off and rushing my answers. They asked pretty basic behavioral questions, nothing too tricky. One of the questions for the recorded video interview was name one process that could be digitalized at your school.
