Received an email from 10-year experienced recruiter to visit facility in Chennai for Sr Eng. Manager.
However, after reporting in facility, I was told as per my resume I’m not eligible for the interview, as I played the role of Technical Delivery Manager, and other designations which another 15-year experienced recruiter and hiring manager (Sr Eng. Manager) could not comprehend. As per her, my delivery, recruitment skills are irrelevant for IDFC.
As per her, my resume cannot be understood by layman like herself. (I mistook her for a tech recruiter.) She further told me, EM and Sr EM roles are Individual Contributor roles in IDFC. They don’t do delivery or people management, which I had done before.
In short, my profile is useless for IDFC. She further added, there is no interview for Sr Eng. Manager. As per her based on your interview performance in EM interview we will give the role of either EM or Sr EM.
Further, she said since my profile was not eligible, I can either wait till evening and take the last interview. After which, she will tell me that I’m rejected or I can chose to go now. I walked out of it.
Clearly she nor the hiring manager has any clue on what the role entails.
Cherry on top: Meanwhile, the 10-year experienced recruiter said, you can have food and go.
Conclusion
- IDFC First Bank will never ever become another HDFC Bank because of such disrespectful people, despite media writing about it. The culture and respect for individual is not there.
- This incidents reflects and validates why employees hate recruiters, HR and PMO. When in position of power, they literally crush you.
And, why Senior leadership treats these roles with disdain and contempt.
