Let me first start by saying please do not waste your time applying to this Law Firm. Ms. Hughes thinks she is more important in the Orange County legal community than she really is. I applied online and someone reached out to me and the schedule permitted me to come within 2 days of the initial phone call.
When I arrived, reception and the staff were very pleasant. Gave me a tour of the office before meeting with a Senior Attorney for part one of the interview process. She went over my resume and talked about my experience. She then began to warn me about the partner to interview me. Now I'm not thin skinned by any means and I am confident in myself and my abilities. Ms. Hughes needs to realize that the interview process is a two way street. I'm interviewing the firm as well to see if I want to work there. Which is something that I can appreciate about the interview, she does not fake who she is so you get to see the type of person you will be working with during the interview process. I have never in my career had someone act as unprofessional as she did during the interview. I can say she is the only individual I have ever interviewed with to use foul language during an interview. She asked me if I did research on the firm and on her. I told her I researched the firm online, a response she did not appreciate. She said I should have asked around in the legal community about her (After the interview I sent an email to my old Family Law Professor to see if she had any insight on the firm and/or Ms. Hughes to which she responded she did not know her).
She was hostile and rude throughout the interview process and I already knew I would never even consider working there.
I have seen postings for Associate Attorneys for this firm posted so many times over the years that I know their turnover rate is very high. This is not a place you can have a long lasting happy career in my opinion. Run as fast as you can.

The assistant to the partner called to ask my law school GPA before scheduling the interview. They do not hire people under a certain GPA. When I arrived to interview with the partner, an associate stopped me to warn me that the named partner was a tough interview, and advised me not to cry. Did not really set the mood for a positive work environment. The partner was rude, condescending, and pompous. No wonder they have such high turnover.

Question 1
They require a certain law school GPA to be hired and stated that anyone who does not graduate near the top of their class will not succeed in the practice of law.
