      Entretien pour Operations Manager

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Homejoy en oct. 2013

      Entretien

I applied on a Friday in via an ad on LinkedIn and was contacted on Sunday to arrange for a phone interview. The phone interview was extremely casual. The recruiter seemed nice and it sounded as if she really enjoyed working at Homejoy and thought highly of the people she worked with and for. I was able to gather very little information about the position and felt a little unclear as to the scope of the role. The recruiter seemed unable to provide information on what a typical day/week/month would consist of and how and by whom I would be evaluated. After the phone interview, I was contacted by the recruiter and set up an in person interview with the COO and Regional Operations Manager. When I entered my interview the COO informed me that the the Regional Operations Manager was next door onbaording a cleaner and would be joining us shortly. Well, the Regional Operations Manager joined us ab about 90 seconds before the interview was scheduled to end and in the meantime the COO and I stumbled had through a horrible directionless interview that felt as though we were both killing time waiting for the other party to join us. I couldn't wait for it to end and I am sure the COO felt the same way. I While I see tremendous potential in the mode amd believe that the COO certainly understands the tech side of the business, the interview left me with the impression that management lacked the necessary "field" experience to understand the nuances of what it takes to run a large scale cleaning business. It was made clear that all that mattered was a five star review from clients. When I asked what steps the company took to ensure that the contractor was given the training and background information on the customer and their expectations to ensure that a five star rating was received no substantive answer was given. At that point I was grateful that I had had such a horrible experience because it prevented me from entering into an untenable situation. Until they realize that ensuring the contractors success is paramount to customer satisfaction and ultimately Homejoy's success any momentum they gain based on convenience and price will eventually peter out, I am afraid they are in peril. I wish them well

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Homejoy (San Francisco, CA) en févr. 2014

      Entretien

Step 1. Quick general intro interview (20min) Step 2. 2 rounds of 30 minute interviews (tactical, analytical, business sense) Step 3. Analytical test – 2 hours, data set to be analysed Step 4. Chat with COO/ CEO, both about 30 min In general, very fast paced interview process, all people were highly involved and as I had the chance to talk to both COO and CEO it showed me that they have personal interest in me. Generally a very good and convincing experience (had several other startup offers but decided for Homejoy due to this experience).

The hiring process was overall a very positive one. An application was sent to a contact I knew there. After a few days, a recruiter reached out to me for an initial phone screen, going over the basics of the job and the company. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview where I was given a few sample case scenarios and judged on my analytic skills.
