      Entretien

The interview process was the most timely and brutal process I have ever been through for an entry level position. I read a review of this position from 3 years ago and my experience was exactly the same. It took over a month, I went through two question based interviews and three skills tests. The first interview was by telephone-passed that. Then I was sent a craft test in the mail where I was vaguely instructed to make four different crafts in three days. A banner, a set of jewelry, cards, and wrap a present. The instructions were not detailed, and even getting directions on how and what to send back was excruciating. In addition, parts of what I needed to complete the test were left out and I had to go pick them up myself. Regardless, I sent that in and passed again. Then I was asked to perform a sketch test with just random pictures on a pdf. It was only after asking several questions that I was informed that my task was to sketch out a room using these items. This test was due when I went in for a final in person interview. I drove 7 1/2 hours one way to go to HL Corporate, and was reimburse for gas. When I got there I was grilled by four upper level management people for about 45 minutes. Then I took a tour for about an hour. Then they made me complete yet another skill test. For two and a half hours I was asked to style two shoots..in high heels, and business attire. It was brutal as they were set design tests so I was standing and moving furniture the entire time, and ultimately I wished they had informed me that it would be best to dress comfortably. Then three days later I was told my "skills don't meet the job requirements". I think if this were true you'd think they would've known before asking for me to come in for an interview. Overall, I very disappointed in how rough this process was, and that I was put through it, putting my life on hold all the while, only to be told no at the very end.
