I did 5 hours, including a presentation, with a set of interviewers that were all men. I didn't get the job, not because they had another candidate they liked better, which I would accept easily. No, these men came up with a grading system, which I'm sure is very fair, and told the recruiter that I didn't get a high enough grade.
I'll spare you my whole background but I have a phd and a couple decades of engineering experience.
I get rejected for jobs all the time. I don't even think about it. This is the first one where I have been rejected based on an imaginary grade system, which is, I'm just guessing, not going to be calibrated to be fair to women.
