I applied through a recruiter and they immediately asked me to take a writing test, including a slide summary, an article, and a congress abstract. All of this work took at least 8 hours. After two weeks of waiting for feedback, I receive an extremely brief summary that the work was good but other candidates were stronger. This is abysmal feedback for the effort required for the test.
Straight to a written test, which consisted of three parts: abstract, newsletter and summary slide based on a fairly complex paper. This test took around 20 hours, which is an half a working week, with three days to return (one of which was a Friday, so I was working)

After submitting a CV and cover letter through a recruitment agency, an off site assessment had to be completed, without a guaranteed interview. This included 3 different written assessments which took 2+ days, and when unsuccessful they didn’t offer feedback. Overly demanding process for an entry level role.

According to a recruiter there, this agency does not consider applicants with visas. This was disappointing because the rejection was due to an issue out of my control. I wish I had been given a fair opportunity to be evaluated on my skills and competency, not my nationality. Nonetheless, the company seemed alright. They should try and make their workplace more inclusive.
