I first had conversations with the VP of product and then the CEO (very early on!) where we discussed the industry, major trends in the data space, and the key market assumptions and hypotheses that Heap makes.
After that, I was invited to an onsite interview, where I met with stakeholders across Account Management, Marketing, Engineering, Design, and Product, plus another discussion with the CEO. This was a well-coordinated series of conversations that gave me a good picture of how the functional areas of the company work together.
The People team was super responsive and had an offer within 5 days of my onsite visit. The offer was extremely clear and was the best put-together offer I've ever seen. There was no shadiness about equity (quite the opposite, in fact -- they were very transparent about possible exit scenarios and even helped me model equity scenarios via a Google Sheet).
I asked to speak to a few more folks, including some of the investors, and the team was very accommodating of my requests. There was no exploding timeline for the offer -- in fact, they encouraged me to make a thoughtful decision and not rush.
After a few more conversations, I accepted the offer and I'm very glad to have done so!
