Entretien
This was the most thorough interview experience I've ever been through in the 20+ years working in the field and I could not have been more appreciative of it. The team, now my team, was extremely good at setting and meeting expectations. I would recommend to anyone else applying to be very candid in your background and expertise as everything will come out.
At Harness the hiring managers are tasked with owning the vast majority of the hiring process, with the talent reps being super helpful about all other aspects including benefits, etc. You can even ask to meet with anyone else at the organization that you really want to and they will do their best to make it happen.
The Hiring Manager will meet with you in person (an internal requirement) and will discuss all details of compensation etc. before you are tasked with technical assessment (you are given 48 hours to complete it) and eventually the final panel presentation.
I loved that everything was decided and agreed upon before this, so once the final panel was concluded and you are given the offer, there is no surprise and no further negotiation because you know exactly what you are getting.
The future is Harness!
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Are you running away from something or are you running towards something?
The interview process at Harness was comprehensive and insightful. It started with one-on-one meetings with the hiring manager, a future colleague, the heads of the region, and the VP of Sales Engineers. These discussions provided a solid foundation of the company's culture and the role's significance.
A standout aspect of the process was the panel interview. It involved the hiring manager, a potential colleague, the head of the region, and a sales leader. For this, I was tasked with presenting on a chosen topic, which allowed me to demonstrate my communication and presentation skills in a dynamic group setting.
Additionally, I completed a hands-on lab exercise on the Harness.io platform, which I found particularly beneficial. This self-paced task offered a practical glimpse into the job and the platform, allowing a mutual assessment of fit.
To deepen my understanding, I also pursued (on my own) one of Harness's certifications, immersing myself in the customer onboarding experience and demonstrating my commitment to fully understanding the platform's impact.
The interview process was engaging and multi-dimensional, effectively blending discussions, practical assessments, and personal initiative to understand the platform. It was a well-rounded evaluation that allowed both sides to gauge fit and left me with a positive impression of Harness' approach to hiring.
