The interview process was thorough and well-rounded. The team interviewing me included pretty much the whole team that I work with today and the process was split into several steps where I met various teammates. This was important as I already felt like I knew everyone by the time I started and there were no first day nerves.
They would ask me questions that were both directly related to my work history and style as well as friendly questions which made me feel like they really wanted to get to know me. I reciprocated and we all formed a rapport very quickly.
All my interviews were via video chat and some only included my manager and one other higher level member of staff i.e. head of UK. This should have been intimidating but it wasn't due to the amiable approach of all of the interviewers. They also insisted I ask them any questions I wanted to in order to inform my decision and ensure the role and environment was right for me. I really felt that it was a two-way process and that Handshake were very much being interviewed by me, in kind.
Before the video calls kicked off, I was given a take-home technical test to complete that included all the context and resources I needed to get the task done.
Communication was always great and I was kept up-to-date with the process and how many steps were remaining at the end of each step. At the time, it seemed like a long process, but I looked forward to each stage. The interviewers even fit the sessions around my own rigid schedule which was very kind and also very much appreciated!
