An informal video call booked with two of the peers to the role, one was stuck on a call so we spent half the time waiting for him then carried on without. They were unwilling to conduct second stage over video so I attended their offices for the interview. Again the same person who was supposed to attend did not show up so was interviewed by the same peer from the first stage and my prospective line manager. Interview was OK and I felt at ease until I was introduced to their CEO for an informal 1:1 chat. He was very awkward and quite rude in his questioning and body language, yawning twice, once without covering his mouth. Within seconds of meeting he suggested that I seemed too nice for the role as the staff need a “kick up the arse” to use his exact words. He also rolled his eyes when I asked some questions around their poor Glassdoor reviews, at this point I could see why. I have had no formal feedback following the interview despite the agent chasing not that I would have proceeded based on my experience with their CEO.
