I spoke with their HR person on two occasions. One was a phone interview, was simple enough. The second was an in person interview with a skill assessment in which I was supposed to meet the owner.
During the skill assessment - their data sets in SPSS were formatted worse than those of undergraduate researchers in their first year. Once I completed the assessment to what I believed would be the best tests to conduct, the owner attempted to nitpick by claiming I should have performed a bunch of t-tests as opposed to an Analysis of Variance, which is a red flag for anyone who knows how p-hacking works.
After the assessment - not only did I never speak to the owner, they asked I start the next day as they were in desperate need of a research analyst. When asked about pay (the average salary for this position in Bellevue is ~$62k/year. They offered me $15/hour. The minimum wage. They attempted to make this less of an issue with claims of "Your pay can increase in a few short months with excellent performance!". Why do a skill assessment unless you want to know my skills and performance?

Get an email that says they already scheduled and will call you the next day, have you come in their office after a few days or week, and do an interview with the owner, asks you to talk to the administrator, and he asks if you can work the next day, hinting that they are struggling to get employees in on how their company is performing.
