In the service industry, specifically restaurants, if you know an employee who recommends you and the position you're looking for is open, chances are you will get the job. If you do not know anyone who works there focus on describing your previous experiences and accomplishments with your last job i.e. new employee trainer, team lead, opener/closer responsibilities.
