I was referred by a friend and I was contacted by a recruiter that day. From there, I was scheduled for a phone call with a manager. The call was tough! The interviewer definitely wanted to know what I knew about Gusto, but she was really responsive and easy to talk to. She said at the end of my call that she would like to schedule the next round of interviews and the recruiter would reach out. After not hearing back for a few days, I contacted the recruiter and she said that they would need the person hired to start in the next two weeks (which wouldn't work because I was from out of state). I was really sad because I was really excited about the role. A few weeks later, I noticed a similar job posted and circled back to the recruiter. She said since I did well in my first interview they could push my through the last round - and later that week I had a two hour skype call -and later that week I was hired! My advice would just be to really connect with the recruiter - if they think you're a potential fit they will really work on your behalf to make the appropriate connections! Also be prepared for tough questions - they really focus on culture fit so make sure you can answer the questions in a way that demonstrates your personality!
