      Candidature

J'ai postulé via une agence de recrutement. J'ai passé un entretien chez Gucci (Secaucus, NJ) en janv. 2015

      Entretien

I found the job off Craigslist of all places. E-mailed the recruiter and got a call back late on the same day. He presented me to Gucci and they liked what they read and invited me in for an interview a week later. When I arrived, I was not the only one there applying for this position. I will admit that being in a waiting area with other candidates is not comfortable. It makes someone feel that they are not the only one there applying for it. Yes, you know other people come in to get interviewed, but you never ever see them, so this was different for me. But back to the interview process... I walked up to the receptionist, she gave me a visitor badge and I waited about an hour for my turn to come up. The manager walked me to his room and started asking me about scenarios. He just wanted to know how comfortable and knowledgable I was overall. I was able to give him feedback on the technologies they have and asked questions about their operation. Overall at the end we laughed and had a good time. I thought I had it... two days later I get an e-mail that he passed up on me. I was shocked as the overall feeling of the interview went extremely well. I will admit I was bummed, but eventually brushed it off and kept job hunting. About a month later, after I already landed another job, I get an e-mail from the staffing recuiter and mentioned that the Help Desk Manager wants me to join the company. As happy as I was to see that e-mail I had to decline the position. It was not because they declined to hire me the first time or out of revenge. The new job I got pays 25% more and was full time with benefits and annual bonus. I could not pass up on that. If for some weird reason, this job fails, I will look up Gucci again.
