A poorly run interview process whereby the candidate is not even told if he / she has moved to the next stage in the process.
The quality of interviewers that I met was all over the map. Some were experienced but looked overworked and not engaged while others were amateurish and cocky.
I see that Groupon is not really doing well in its business and it having a hard time attracting candidates to interview with them. Even in this situation, the interviewers and the hiring team is not helpful in making the experience of the interviewee to be good.
Multiple same day interviews with business stakeholders. Good opportunity to learn about expectations and company culture. Most are thirty minutes long and back to back. Friendly interviewers and environment.

Applied on-line, contacted by recruiter via email to schedule a date/time to speak. Very old-school approach (walk me through your resume), and then in her rush to describe the role in more detail, she let it slip that internal candidates had been identified, but tried to recover with "we are also interested in what someone from the outside could bring to us." STOP WASTING CANDIDATES TIME IF YOU ARE GOING TO FILL INTERNALLY. This is such a BS move. State "Strong Internal Candidate Identified" on your req.

First I had a screen with HR. The recruiter was well versed in the role and the team and much better prepared than any recruiter I've dealt with in the past. Then I had a phone screen with the hiring manager where we discussed some scenarios related to the job and how my background fits those. Finally I had an in person interview where I met with 6 people over four hours. The interviews ranged from standard questions to scenarios to general chats about fit and the company.
