You will meet with the store manager first and then the head merchandiser. There is also a background check they will do as well as an online personality test as well. Overall the interview with the SM is very simple. You'll be asked pretty much more follow up questions with the Head Merchandiser on your managing skills, and then do a walk through of the store and be prepared to give your opinions on merchandising. Be warned though, depending on the location you apply to if it's a busy volume store be prepared to have to do merchandising as well as being the manager on duty.
The whole interview process takes about a month. And I will let you know that if you like having a structured retail operations and merchandising this company is NOT for you. They are so disorganized, with so many policies and procedures in place that make no sense. And you will most likely not get to do a lot of merchandising. They call it a visual assistant position, but honestly it should just be called an assistant manager position with some visuals involved.
Personally assessed if you have the "brand qualities" - dressing to company standards, have "the look" (generally god-looking and well dressed).
