      Entretien

I spoke with their outside HR rep, who knew absolutely nothing about the company. It was incredibly hard to actually get a feel for a) the office environment and b) what the company actually does (beyond the website descriptions). Granted, this is typical for outside HR, but kind of made me wary about going in for an in-person interview. So, I went anyway. Why not. As I've said in my other reviews, it's always good to polish up on interviewing skills and maybe something will reveal itself and make the job appealing. Their setup is a two-panel interview; one focused on technical question, the other on culture-fit. First group comes in. They are quick and informative. Asks standard questions of how you utilized Google Analytics, how you can contribute to the team, how you've used tools to solve problems. Then comes time for you to ask questions. Both of these individuals hadn't been with the company for that long, so it was hard to gauge answers regarding a few things with their overall happiness and experience with the company. But overall, they seemed knowledgeable about their specific areas. Next comes the culture team. Not sure what the actual positions of these two individuals are (nor was I really sure what the other two did--perhaps that's my own fault for not asking) but they ask the personality questions (what did you do during a situation when, how do you like to be managed, etc). Again, pretty standard stuff. Asked more questions of them than they asked of me. The motto here is "Work Hard, Play Hard." The usual agency stuff that they say a million times over. Basically, we're going to work you past the standard 40 hours, but you get a beer after, so that means we're cooler than other places. Overall, very much an average place to work. They give you a company issued Macbook Pro, which is cool. Seems like they are spending a lot of money though, and that's a bit concerning. Practicality speaks to me more than novelty. They are opening up a new office in Harbor East which looks to be in a old repair shop or fire station? Not sure. But seems like they are pretty excited about it. So, if you're looking for a typical agency with the usual "work hard, play hard" mantra, this is what you're going to get! However, realize that despite this "fun and feel good" disposition the company has, the interview process feels quite sterile. Not sure if it translates over to the culture or not.
