Seemingly fast interview process that started with a quick phone screen. I’d say the phone screen was tougher than the on-site interview. I was shortly contacted for the on-site interview. The location was nice, but seemed like a university with a lot of cliques. I was interviewed by two hiring managers in the department. They only asked about my self and pretty much described the job description in detail throughout the duration of the interview. I didn’t like that they really didn’t have an interest by probing questions about my experience or anything chemistry related. They kept telling my that they didn’t want to ask any questions because my experience/background looked solid. I tried asking some questions and they didn’t lot seem interested at all. I took it as they weren’t interested and was planning to just move on after the interview was done. The second hiring manager was not prepared in terms of knowing my previous experience was surprised that I had R&D experience that is “a different ball game” compared to the job I was applying for. It honestly felt like a waste of both of our time. I didn’t not hear back for about two weeks until I was called by HR to let me know that they were getting ready to role out offers but they where trying to change the shift times for the position (original graveyard). I accepted the changes and was told I would hear back in a couple days. Radio silence for a week or two and got a call back with a verbal offer. The verbal offer also included some changes to the shift during the first two months that would revert to the original graveyard shift that I was not made aware of. No information regarding benefits just the base pay and the changes in shift times. Overall, this company (at least in Los Angeles) appears to not take interest in candidates and are just looking for a warm body that fits the bill. They advised a super quick hire but hiring process was really dragged out.

I was seen by the HR representative first and then the department manager. The questions were more behavioral. They ask about your work history, what kind of testing you are interested in, and how well you get along with others in the workplace. The interview was more casual, nothing too intense.
