My first interview was with a recruiter, 30 minutes over Google meet and no web cam required. It went very well and he was easy to talk to. I emailed him for an update about a week later and he let me know I would move forward for a second interview. The day before the second interview, the recruiter reached out to me for a quick 10 minute call to setup expectations for how the second interview would go. I really appreciated that, no other company has provided that. He explained the 2nd interview would last about an hour on camera and would take place with 2 gravity payments employees who are supervisors in the department I was applying for. He told me there would be se role playing scenarios and gave me great advice on how to handle the interview. I took his advice seriously and prepared myself well for the interview I was told to expect.
The 2nd interview starts and I have a page full of notes in front of me along with a list of questions for each person. The interview took place with 2 male employees. The one with facial hair was very nice and welcoming. The other one acted like he would rather be literally anywhere else instead of interviewing me. The latter began asking me questions about how my past and current roles would transfer to working at Gravity Payments and I start going into my sales experience (which consisted of both remote and in person sales). He then explains that Gravity is actually something completely different than what I'm used to and quickly sets a tone in his voice that tells me he's already done with me. This makes me nervous and starts to rattle me. He keeps asking me the difference between my previous role (remote sales manager) and my current role (in person sales) as if he hasn't properly reviewed my resume at all. He tells me to give him examples of how many outbound calls I make per day at my current job and I say around 40. He audibly scoffed at that. It's in a physical store, there are a myriad of other things to be done.
