      J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 1 jour. J'ai passé un entretien chez Graduate Fasttrack (Londres, Angleterre)

      This selection day was like The Hunger Games, run by junior staff on power trips who delighted in telling the unlucky candidates to leave the room publically (I personally think this was awful, like some public crucifixion). 0 time to prepare anything and a rather odd group interview scenario, the entire process was shrouded in mystery which would certainly put candidates from disadvantage backgrounds without savvy parents to put them in the know at a disadvantage. Truly horrible experience and I left in tears. Luckily I now realise I'd rather shoot myself in the foot than go into recruitment consultancy so really they did me a favour by rejecting me.

The decision on successful and unsuccessful applicants is made collectively by our employees who observe each task on the day which always involves at least 2 senior level consultants.       The first bit was an initial overview and people talking about how much they've billed, a lot of nonsense and people making themselves feel better about themselves. Then a one to one interview with two members of staff, depending who you get this could be useful, I got two decent people so this was okay.

      I need to mention this, prior to interviewing I mentioned although this is a graduate role I am 25 would that hinder me they said no, after the interview they said they can't hire me because I'm too old. Factual conversation and reason that happened.

      I was headhunted after Graduate fasttrack found my cv online, I was contacted via a phone call which was a positive and hopefully conversation that led on to scheduling my attendance to an assessment day. My general opinion of assessment days are that they just highlight the loudest person in the group and they don’t get to know the candidates or their background and experiences. The assessment day started with a presentation from one of the account managers, which described the agency and what roles they fill. The next part was an icebreaker game of ‘would I lie to you?’ which I personally didn’t see the connection as I wouldn’t want recruiters to be lying to me in this job role. We then introduced ourselves and following on from that we had to sell our partner, so was given time to learn about our partner then had to sell them to the group on why they would be a good candidate. At this point they cut most of us and only took a selected few candidates in for a panel interview.
