First came the unsolicited approach from the company saying that they are vey impressed with my technical knowledge and presence on the internet and that the company would be interseted in talking to me about a position. I was kind of delighted and surprised that how they have come to know about me. Most of the interviewed I have gone to in my career have been initiated by my application to a particular job.
Then came the technical interview, which consisted of a lot of questions on operating systems, programming languages, Data Center architecture and networking. Since the position was to be for a Technical Program Manager and my background being very technical , it seems the interviewer was satisfied with most of the answers.
Next round of interviews were targeted to assess Project Management skills. I was given a series of questions to assess Project and Resource management skills. Being a highly technical architect I was not able to convince the interviewer of my PM skills. Towards the end the interviewer made me feel inadequate by asking me the definition of Critical path. I was not impresses. I guess the interviewer wasn't impress either, needles to say I didnt get the job.
In hindsight it was the biggest disappointment of my life to lose a chance to work for this company.
