      Entretien

Applied via website - spoke with initial recruiter who has been on the job less than 3 weeks. About as basic of a conversation as you can have, sounded like she was going down her list of questions. Moved on to next round to speak with a Mid-Market manager ( who is also less than 3 weeks on the job). I was no showed for my interview. Recruiter said she was busy and never received a cancellation note - Manager said he never got an invite. Who knows, who cares but it was pretty unprofessional. Rescheduled for the next day and I have to say it was the least enjoyable interview I've had in a while. This guy spoke a mile a minute, didn't breathe in between his questions, and made zero effort to connect with me at all. I felt like a transaction but hey - maybe that's what works for them. After all, he did say working for Gong is like "getting your PhD in sales" - Really? Did he really just say that? I was out as soon as I heard that.

The job interviewer felt like they were just reading off a checklist and really didn't get me excited for the role when I was really excited to interview there. I hope they can try to be more personal on the first interview.

I was approached by a recruiter and spoke with her for 30-minutes. After that I would meet with the team lead, VP with a mock call. It was a standard process overall.

They asked the standard questions around my work experience, Hybrid work. What type of deals I have dealt with in the past, along with how I would transition into working with Gong software.

The Interview processes was straight forward and smooth. The recruiter I worked with was professional, responsive, and on top of each step of the process so I knew exactly where I stood and what to expect next. The process went something like recruiter screen, interview with the hiring manager, mock call with director of sales and hiring manager, and the final interview was with VP of Sales. The interviews were a healthy mix of casual getting to know you questions and behavioral questions focused on your work experience. The behavioral type of questions were more natural and conversation-like than some of the scripted "tell me about a time" questions I heard from other companies in my job search.
