Contacted by phone after applying online to a craigslist posting. Standard phone screening questions such as: What are your strengths and weaknesses etc. Tell me about a situation when you where overwhelmed and how did you handle it? I was invited for a personal interview with the HR person and the manager of the quotes/product department. Then I was called in for a second around of interviews, this time with both of the owners, which was a bit more detailed and lasted for at least two hours if I remember correctly. Received a formal offer a day later and accepted after one around of starting salary negotiations.

I was first contacted by the "HR department" by phone. The phone interview was brief and about my education and past work experience. I was then invited for an interview at their office with the HR person who had contacted me on the phone. She asked me the typical and irrelevant questions such as "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" and other formalities. I made it up to the round of interviews with the VP of Go West Tours. My appointment with her was at 10AM. I came to GWT on time and was asked to wait for her in a closet size room for more than 20 minutes. When the VP finally arrived she didn't even apologize for having me wait for more than 20 minutes. The first thing she said to me after sitting down at her desk was "I'm a very demanding person", which was very uncalled for and ironic when you make people wait and don't even feel you should apologize for it. She was clearly treating me as if I was already one of her employees, which I was not. This made me realize that I would probably not enjoy working for a person like her who doesn't even show respect to potential hire. I want to stress that I was offered the position I interviewed for, but decided to decline due to the lack of respect and the non-negotiable and ridiculous salary that was offered to me. Regarding the salary, they don't take into account your experience, education, and skills. Everyone starts at the same salary. Note: My interview was 3 years ago and they still offer the same starting salary (30K).
