Went through an arduous 3-week interview process, enduring 5 sessions, including in-person and virtual interviews, a SQL assessment, and a take-home case study. I was moved on to the next sessions only after the technical skills were evaluated and approved. Presented well in two separate case study sessions. I have been a hiring manager in other companies, and I know for a fact that my performance was very strong. However, the company states that they are not proceeding because I havent used the exact same tech stack that the team is using.
The excuse seems utterly absurd, particularly for a product management role where the focus is usually on skills like problem-solving, communication, strategic thinking, and understanding customer needs.
If an exact tech stack match was required, I shouldnt have been selected even for the intial recruiter interview. The company's failure to communicate this specific requirement earlier is inexcusable. What a ridiculous reason and what a complete waste of time.

Overall, the interview process is ridiculously long, unorganized, and shows no respect for the candidate's time. Over eight weeks, I had six interviews (four in person and two over Zoom) and was required to prepare a lengthy presentation and complete a complex technical assignment at home. It all seemed very open-ended and improvised; no complete schedule was ever provided, nor was there any indication of when the process would end. Out of a lack of self-respect, I just marched forward, assuming the next event was the last and a job offer was just around the corner.
Feedback along the way was nonexistent. I spent an entire weekend at home loading and processing a massive data set for a technical assignment that was never even acknowledged. A week after my last interview, the recruiter called me to let me know that I just didn’t have enough domain experience for the role, which could have been established three months ago when my resume was first received. I’m unsure if it was a lack of internal consensus on the job description or if they were just stringing me along in case the candidate they wanted backed out. In either case, it’s a terrible look for Global
Please take my advice and stay away from this outfit. Potential employers like this are not worth your time or your business, and you do other job-seekers a disservice by allowing them to continue with this kind of behavior.
