Had a friend refer me to the hiring manager. Connected with hiring manager via LinkedIn first and had to fill out a massive questionnaire discussing everything from my management style to what tools I prefer to use, etc. Eventually I had a brief yet friendly conversation with someone in HR where I got some basic info. After trying multiple times to find a time to talk we found a time to talk.
Spoke with the hiring manager where everything seemed to go well until the end when the conversation ended very abruptly. At the end, the hiring manager told me I would be contacted regarding ‘next steps’. I asked for clarification what that meant at which point the VP snapped at me saying very rudely ‘What don’t you understand? I said we will contact YOU regarding next steps’ and hung up the phone.
A day or two later I was contacted by HR with the news that the hiring manager decided not to go forward. Given how the hiring manager described the role (she already hired the people who would report to this person and both had extremely strong personalities), I am actually glad that they decided to pass.
I would avoid this place like the plague - they sounded quite rude and full of themselves.
