      Entretien

1st Interview - A phone screen with HR 2nd Interview - Virtual interview with HR and the founder. I was ghosted after the 2nd interview. I was told I would hear something the earlier part of the following week which did not happen. I finally emailed 8 days after my interview and received a response several hours later. In short I was told an email was to be sent to me earlier in the week, but somehow was stuck in drafts. Now this can certainly happen and I’ve done it myself, but I do not believe this for a second based on how my 2nd interview went. The email was kind and apologetic stating it was a rough decision to make, but ultimately came down to “dynamic and personalities” and that they “jived” more with a couple other individuals as they moved forward to final steps. I’m no stranger to giving bad news to candidates, but using terms such as “personalities” and “jiving” is biased. Why does it feel as if I was pledging for a frat? It was clear almost immediately after meeting the founder I did not have a chance. The founder seemed low on energy during my conversation and I got the feeling they had about a million other things they'd rather do than be on a call with me. I firmly believe in positivity and that everything happens for a reason so I do not want to come across as bitter because I did not get the job. As I reviewed the employees of this company closer it’s clear I’m not the right “type” for this organization and am confident my talents would be better suited at a more diverse company. It is a shame during these stressful times with so many out of work companies are treating candidates so shabbily. It’s evident the founder could use interview training, though they did at least respond to my Thank you email yet HR did not (another red flag) where I knew I would not be moving forward. I noticed the 3 negative reviews prior to applying, but did not want to hold them against the company yet here I am adding another. It is evident that candidate experience is not a priority. As an early stage startup it's disappointing this company is operating in this manner. If you plan to apply to this company do your research first.
