I filled out an online application through the GSU website. I was called to set up an interview within a week. I showed for the actual interview and it was a round table with some of the management. One of my interviewers leaned back and closed their eyes as I was answering my questions, repeatedly.

"Are you good with technology?" This really means, "are you proficient in Microsoft Excel?" Most of the data keeping requires extensive use of Excel, and many current employees have no clue how to use it.

Was short and good. Nothing that you don't know about yourself was asked. The interview panel was professional and was interested in my responses. heard back in a month about the position. Started during covid.

30-minute skype interview. Very typical of other advisor positions. Nothing unusual. Interview included current advisors and assistant directors. Second round was in person with Associate Director. More informal and conversational. When I received the offer, the amount they offered me was below the listed minimum on the job description. This was a red flag for me.

Interview is fairly simple and there is only one interview. You’ll get asked questions regarding your experience, your desire to be in higher Ed/ serve students, situation based questions, and questions about your technical proficiency (excel)
