      Entretien

I applied for a job by sending my resume and cover letter to the HR associate through email. She responded right away and said they needed to fill the position ASAP and asked me when I could move to Colorado. I responded and said I hoped to move as soon as possible and restated my interest in the position. I didn't hear anything for approximately 2-3 weeks. I assume they went ahead and filled that particular position. She then emailed me and said a couple more positions had opened and asked what time I was free to talk the next day. I responded that same evening. The next day, I received no phone call or email. If she wasn't free at the time I stated in my email, it seems the polite thing would have been to email or call me and ask to speak at another time. I emailed her back and said that I hadn't received a call but that I would still like to discuss the position. My instinct was that this was sloppy and rude recruiting, but I was trying to find a job and be persistent. She responded and suggested a new time, and I said that was fine. The next time came around, and no phone call. I was very irritated, especially since I needed to plan it around other things going in my life. I emailed her to ask what happened, and she apologized and said that doing the payroll got in the way. She asked if we could speak late that afternoon. Keep in mind that this was through email. How did she know I would even read my email and respond in time? It seems like she should have called. Well, I did happen to read the email, so I responded and accepted. No call AGAIN. Then, I think it was maybe a few days later, she called me while I was at work. I couldn't answer the phone, but she followed up with an email and I read it. I called her back, and we scheduled a time for me to speak with the hiring manager that afternoon. Well, he called me at the right time. The interview lasted for about 15 minutes and was pretty standard and he was polite. However, the position I was interviewing for didn't even sound like something I was qualified to do. So, I don't really know why they wanted to interview me for it. It made no sense. I couple of days later, I decided there were too many red flags and told the HR associate that I wasn't interested in working for the company. If I ever get another phone interview and don't receive a call on time, I'll probably not continue to pursue the job.
