J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Gartner (Dallas, TX) en oct. 2020
Entretien
Started with a phone screen with a very nice recruiter. Asked basic questions like why Gartner, why sales. Then had another phone screen with same recruiter a week later where she proceeded to ask me the same exact questions. I will admit, it caught me off guard- but overall these were easy phone conversations. A lot of it was her explaining the company and what they sell. Then she moved me on to a 60 min interview with another recruiter. The recruiter emailed me asking to switch the time of the interview, which I replied to and agreed to switch the time. Then, someone on their end forgot to switch the interview to the new time so I was not there at the time the recruiter thought she was supposed to interview me. She did not believe me when I reminded her that she asked if we could move the time. And then she accused me of not replying back to her which I did in fact reply to her. Overall, very rude about the situation. We eventually rescheduled and the interview was in fact quite tough. A lot more into specifics of why sales, lots of behavior and situational questions and there was even a 5 minute sales role play which I did well in. They expect you to know and understand everything about the research that they sell, after only being briefly explained to you in the first phone call. They moved me on to the next round which would have been a 90 minute interview with another sales role play. I ended up withdrawing because I was no longer interested in the position and the recruiter really left a bad impression on me of the company. Overall, their interview process is not efficient at all and is a very lengthy process. You have to really want the position to stick with all of the interviews.

Question 1
Why sales, why Gartner, sales role play, how are you motivated, how do you talk to someone higher up than you in a company. In the 3rd round, they expect you to know a lot about the different research that they sell.

Sloppy recruiter
Unorganized
No follow up/lots of time between follow ups
phone screening and then panel interview via zoom
accidentally sent me someone else's resume
last minute added different executives to the interview
I received a message from a recruiter and had a phone screen with them. They said they would let me know about a follow up call, but they never got back to me. I reached back out to them to follow up, but I didn't receive a response.
