I would say the first few weeks of my interview process were fantastic. The lady from the Talent Team was courteous, kept me in the loop and overall I felt this job was perfect. I had 3 interviews, the first with Talent, then the teams director and then a wider team conversation and culture interview. After my final interview and writing task the feedback I received was fantastic but there was one other candidate who had to move their final interview from that week to the end of the following week. I accepted this of course and was told it was more a matter of process and that I did amazingly, there was no upper hand etc from the other candidate. I was also sold it as pretty certain I had the role. The following week I was told they would call at a certain time after the other person had interviewed to be given the outcome. That time came, nothing, the following day nothing. So I dropped an email and a few hours later a call was received. I was told I was unsuccessful and this other candidate was just a bit better. It was the polar opposite to what had been alluded to, I was taken aback and a bit hurt. I had been strung along as a back up incase the other person basically declined the role. I was even told that if there were two roles I would have one and that if this person wasn’t in the running at all or for any reason their circumstances changed it would be mine. This company gave me all the right vibes, it was somewhere I really wanted to work and the process was good. Until the end, you shouldn’t give people the wrong impression and keep them hanging for 9 days to then say sorry you were unsuccessful and basically say you were our back up. Really disappointed!
