      Entretien

I applied online and wasn't expecting a call back since most of the big companies go through recruiters! Surprisingly their talent acquisition person (very bubbly and nice) called me for a phone screening . The next day she emailed me for an interview with the hiring manager and another manager. Please keep in mind that I was out of the country and they agreed to do the interview via skype! (very accomodative). The interview was very informal, they went through my resume and asked me questions about my background and my previous roles. They made me feel comfortable and they talked about the team and the opportunities that are available in the company. The next day, I got another call that I'm moving forward to meet with the head of the department, again via skype! She was very nice, again went thoroughly through my resume and asked me to take her through my career history. When I asked her about the role, she talked passionately about the team members, told me their names and who does what, how they allow work from home and how amazing and easy going the team is. I really had a good feeling about the interview but days passed by and I didn't hear back! After a week I wrote to the talent acquisition person and got her out of office massage!! At this point I knew I was not selected because a verbal offer doesn't usually take that long. I then wrote to her back up and inquired about the decision, she came back confirming that they decided to go with another candidate and that they will get back to me with a feedback! (Two weeks after and am still waiting) Overall it was a great experience however 1. I felt like I was led on! If I'm interviewing someone and I'm not 100% sure that I'm going to select them, I won't give them the names of all the team members, I won't ask them how soon they can start and I won't tell them that based on our conversation, there are lots of great opportunities for them to learn and grow. 2. I would have appreciated if the talent acquisition person would have written me a note before going on a 10 day vacation and leaving me in suspense! This far in the interview, they can't just leave you hanging. If they don't want to give you a feedback they can at least send you an automated email that they have moved on so you can get on with your life!
