      Entretien

I applied online, got an email the next day requesting a phone interview. The phone interview was pretty generic, she asked me about my most recent employer, she described the schedule and pay at Geico and asked if I had any problems with it. She noticed I applied at Geico over a year ago and didn't follow through the interview process at that point and took another offer of employment. She drilled into me why I didn't follow through with Geico's interview when Geico paid more than my current employer. I explained how I was dealing with my husband's militay schedule and one car in the family. She passed me on to the skills/personality and scheduled it for the next week. The skills testing wasn't as hard as I expected. I've taken numerous skill testing for other employers during the application testing so this was a little easier than Ive experienced. The typing was easy for me too, since I type with a 60 wpm and 99% accuracy. The skill/personality testing started around 8:30am and we were done around 10:30am. We were notified that we passed the test and we had to wait to speak 1:1 with a HR recruiter. The 1:1 started really cold and impersonal. Some of the questions were "Describe a time when you had to go above and beyond." "Decribe a time when you couldn't please a customer." "What are your educational goals?" "Why didn'tyou finish your bachelors?" "Why do you think it would be easier to go back to school while working at Geico than your current employer? Doesn't your current employer offer tuition reimbursement? DO YOU think this job is going to be easier than your current job?" It didnt stop. She kept firing questions and I just tried to remain upbeat, smiling, and personable even when the interview felt cold and impersonable. She asked me again why didnt I follow through with Geico's interview process over a year ago and took another employment offer instead. She asked repeatedly if I would have a problem with Geico's schedule, pay, or if I needed any time off in the next 6 months. About 12:30pm, after 2 hours of interviewing, she opened up a little bit and started talking politics and I basically she agreed with her because I had no idea what she was talking about. She said we were going to go to the role play part. She gave me a packet of information, told me to read it and she will call me in 20 minutes to start the role play. There was 3 role play situations. The first was someone calling to cancel their subscription, second was someone calling for information, third was someone calling to find out why their rate increased. I thought it was difficult and that I failed miserably. But she said I passed and she wa going to pass me on to the next part...by now it was 1:45pm ish and I had been in her office since 10:30am. I had to reschedule the next part a week later because they didnt have any "appointments available." That concerned me a little but I didnt really have an option. The job shadowing was really awesome, I shadowed an employee for a little over an hour. The manager came back for me and we went into his office for the last interview. He was a little more personable than the HR rep but he kept yawning throughout the interview which I thought was unprofessional and showed a lack of high energy. He asked 'Why Geico', What I thought was the most challenging part of the job, and AGAIN if I had anything scheduled and needed time off in the next 6 months, if I had a problem with the schedule or pay. He said he would call me later that day or the next day. I called the next day (Friday) since I didn't hear anything, and I called 2 days later (Tuesday), since I stil didn't hear anything or get a rejection email. Both times I called they told me they were still considering and would let me know soon. Finally, a week from the interview and job shadowing, and 3 weeks into this process, I got a call back and they asked AGAIN if I had a problem with the schedule or needed time off in the next six months. Then I was offered the job and they scheduled a day for me to come in for the drug test.

There are two rounds. The first round is virtual and they ask about your background and if you can handle the process. For the second-round, You will shadow someone for 20 minutes then proceed for a 40 minute interview. There are a lot of situational questions.

It was a weird process, first it was on zoom and my interviewer told me to turn off my camera because of the bandwidth issues. Then she asked three questions and provided me the job description and the hours. She then asked me if I was looking for other work and If I was currently working. I did tell her that I am currently working and she told me that I have enough time to provide my current job a two weeks notice. After the interview she told me that she was going to endorse my application for review. Then she sent me another email saying that “Your recruiter will be in touch with you for next steps”. Then in the middle of night not even 24 hrs, I get a generic email saying that I was passed on. I wanted to find out why did I get an email saying that a recruiter was going to contact me, then I passed on from someone else. This was a customer service position and during the interview she told me that I have a lot of experience. I just didn’t like during that interview I was given false hope. I would not recommend applying to this company.
