I recently applied for a Game UI Artist position through a LinkedIn job posting. A few days later, I received a call from the HR representative, who informed me that I would be given two case studies to complete within a week. I agreed and submitted the completed case studies on time. Following this, I had an online interview with HR.
During the online interview, the HR representative appeared disengaged, frequently busy with tasks on their computer, which made the conversation feel unprofessional. I was told that my interview recording would be reviewed by the company managers and, if positive, I would be invited for a face-to-face interview. I had hoped that my case study would be evaluated directly by the art team, as it seemed more relevant to the role. Unfortunately, my interaction with HR and the company partners during this process felt far from professional.
A week later, I was called to the office for an in-person interview. The panel included HR and two company partners. The partners, however, came across as largely indifferent and unprofessional. One of them barely acknowledged me and proceeded to ask inappropriate and invasive questions about my personal life. These questions were not only irrelevant but also degrading and manipulative. The overall tone and structure of the interview lacked professionalism.
No feedback or updates were provided at the end of the interview. I later followed up via email to inquire about the status of the process but received no response.
