I applied for an Outside Sales Position with Forbo. Here is the timeline of events:
1) Applied on LinkedIn. 8 days later, my application was reviewed
2) Was contacted 11 days later from a recruiter on LinkedIn (who had no idea I submitted an application, which is fine). Recruiter/HR name was Kesh McGee.
3) Recruiter was 10 minutes late to interview. Said she was going to lunch and forgot about interview. Fine. Mistakes happen. The call went well, and she passed my information on to the Midwest Regional Sales Manager, Chad Michaels
4) Zoom interview with Chad. Was asked two questions. 1--If I deer hunt, and, 2) am I able to travel over 50% of the time. Our "interview" was about 10 minutes and there were no other questions asked. Interesting, but thought it went well. Easy questions right?
5) Nothing for two weeks. Sent a follow up email to HR and Kesh. She promptly responded by saying they had a little shift in their HR department but that I was still in the running and to keep a look out in my email.
6) Another two weeks go by. Crickets. I send another follow up. Crickets.
7) After 7 weeks from application to today, I sent an email stating to take me out of consideration (if I was even being considered).
We are all adults, and I am a big boy--if you dont think someone is a valid candidate, let them know. Don't give the run around and waste everyone's time. I accepted another position with another company so all is okay---but just a little warning on how my process went. It was anything but professional, and I'm not sure that I would want to work for a company that has an internal process like this.
